Walpole Co-operative Bank’s NHL ticket donation heats up Scholarship fundraiser
Walpole Co-operative Bank’s gift of two tickets to one of the hottest events in town — the National Hockey League’s Winter Classic at Fenway Park on January 1 — went a long way to help raise funds for the Walpole Scholarship Foundation.
The tickets to the Boston Bruins vs Philadelphia Flyers game on New Year’s Day were auctioned online at eBay. The face value of the two tickets was $700. Bidding closed on December 22, and the winning bid for the pair was $1,025.
Walpole Co-operative Bank is a longtime, primary sponsor of the Scholarship Foundation, a volunteer organization that has awarded over 1900 grants totaling $2.3 million to local students since it was established in 1983.
