Walpole Co-operative Bank Offers Homebuying Assistance Through Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston’s ProgramsWalpole Co-operative Bank has announced they have once again partnered with the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLBank) of Boston to provide access to a range of community lending programs designed to support and bring affordable mortgage solutions to eligible homebuyers in the New England area. Programs offered by Walpole Co-operative Bank include the Equity Builder Program (EBP), Housing Our Workforce (HOW), and the Freddie Mac Home Possible Program. As part of each program recipients are required to attend a homebuyer education/counseling program. Most recently, the Bank was approved to participate in the FHLBank’s new Lift Up Homeownership (LUH) program, a special-purpose credit and pilot program designed to provide downpayment and closing cost assistance to Black, American Indian or Alaska Native, Hispanic, Asian, and Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander first-time home buyers. Through LUH, individuals earning up to 120% of the area median income are eligible to receive up to $50,000 in assistance on a first-come, first-served basis. Homebuyers applying to LUH are required to complete a homebuyer counseling program before receiving funds. “Walpole Co-operative Bank is pleased to continue to partner with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston to help make our neighbors’ dream of owning a home a reality.
